Who are we?

Life Activities Clubs Victoria ‘LACVI’ (formerly known as the Life Planning Foundation of Australia Inc and the Early Planning for Retirement Association) is a not-for-profit community organisation recognised by government and the community as a valuable contributor to the well-being of the mature sector of our community.
Formed in the early 1970s, the organisation and its network of member Life Activities Clubs (LACs) continue to provide physical, social and recreational activities as well as education and motivational support for mature-aged Victorians. This is to help older men and women plan and manage significant change in their lives (including the transition from work to retirement), and to develop and maintain an active, engaged and enjoyable lifestyle. LACVI member Clubs are spread across metropolitan Melbourne and regional Victoria with a total membership of around 5000.

Our Mission

Through the formation and support of a network of Life Activities Clubs, to assist people in retirement or approaching retirement to enjoy a full, healthy, satisfying and connected community life, and to foster and maintain the lifelong wellbeing of all Club members through the provision of a range of social and recreational opportunities.

Friendships for life!

What do Clubs do?

Each Life Activities Club:

  • Provides support to its members as they experience life-changing events such as retirement, loss of a partner or moving into a new area, and as they pursue an active and enjoyable lifestyle.
  • Provides its members with a variety of leisure, physical, educational, personal development, and social activities.
  • Organises sub-groups of the Club (called Activity Groups), each sub-group comprising those members of the Club who share a common interest and meet regularly to pursue that interest.
  • A Life Activities Club could have anything from 6 to 60 or more Activity Groups.
