The Life Activities Clubs
Each Life Activities Club is a non-profit, non-political and non-sectarian community group, run by its members on a voluntary basis and operating autonomously within the general framework for Life Activities Clubs.
A Life Activities Club's membership comprises both pre-retired and retired men and women and most clubs seek as members people in the 50 and over age group (or for some clubs, 45 and over).
Under the constitution of LACVI, each Life Activities Club is a member of LACVI, which is the umbrella organization for the Life Activities Clubs.
Purpose of a Life Activities Club
A Life Activities Club:
Provides support to its members as they experience life-changing events such as retirement or moving into a new area, and as they pursue an active and enjoyable lifestyle.
Provides its members with a variety of leisure, educational, personal development, and social activities.
Organises sub-groups of the club (called Activity Groups), each sub-group being made up of members of the club who share a like interest and meet regularly to pursue that interest.
A Life Activities Club could have anything from six to thirty or more Activity Groups.
